We just listed a 1960 Leaf baseball wax pack for you, and we can't wait to break it! These cards have been sealed, hiding from the light of day for 63 years. Want to see what is inside? See how you can join the break!
In 1960, Leaf came back into the baseball card market for the first time in 11 years. Rather than using a stick of gum as the selling point like Topps did, Leaf used a fun toy that kids would enjoy - a marble! Leaf and their partner, Sports Novelties, Inc. placed a marble inside of a pack of five baseball cards. Today, we have a pack of cards, marble and all, available to you
The checklist for 1960 Leaf includes Hall of Famers like Luis Aparicio, Jim Bunning, and Orland Cepeda. There are 144 total cards in the set, each featuring a black and white photo of the the stars of yesterday. The backs of each card feature a biography and player stats. Fun fact: LEAF is not listed on each card! Their partner company , Sports Novelties, Inc., is what is printed on the card. Imagine today buying any product - be it Topps, Panini, Upper Deck, etc., and the company logo not being on the card.
We break plenty of vintage packs; we love doing it for you! While breaking a 1955 Bowman baseball cello pack at the National in 2018, we pulled a Mickey Mantle! We also pulled FIVE Hall of Famers from a pack of 1947-66 Exhibits, highlighted by a Hank Aaron. Hopefully we can pull you a star from this 1960 Leaf pack
There are FIVE cards and one marble in this pack. Only five spots are being sold, ensuring everyone in the break will take home a card from this pack. We will roll dice and randomize the list of names in the break. After the random, the spot you land on will be the card you receive from the pack. Example - if your name is listed as the third spot after the random, the third card from the pack is yours! Spot number one gets the first card in the pack, and the fun marble, too.
Every card in this pack has not seen the light of day since 1960. For 63 years, these cards have missed the moon landing (July 20th, 1969), the invention of the Internet, every cup of coffee since Starbucks opened in 1971.
Come take a trip back to 1960 when Chubby Checker dropped The Twist (reached #1 September 19th), The Andy Griffith Show was on TV, and a gallon of gas was a whopping 25 cents.
You can purchase a spot in this 1960 Leaf pack for $225 HERE:
