J5 called his shot and pulled a Larry Bird - Magic Johnson rookie card with Dr. J! Pack fresh from a 1980 Topps wax pack comes this beautiful, iconic card.

Mike Beck bought a personal pack of 1980 Topps basketball, meaning every card in the pack was his. We're pretty sure Mike is glad he made this break a personal one; he just landed a pack-fresh Larry Bird-Magic Johnson rookie card with Dr. J, Julius Erving!

In 1980, Topps released their set with one standard card that has three players on it. Each of the three players has their own card. Three mini cards, if you will. The cards have three perforations so you could choose to tear off the three mini cards and build the set like so, or keep the cards in-tact. The hobby was a little different 40 years ago; not sure anyone is going to be ripping THIS card into thirds today. The crown jewel of 1980 Topps and one of the most coveted cards in the entire hobby is the card featuring a pair of rookies in Larry Bird and Magic Johnson. The third player is none other than Dr. J. Bird won 3 MVP awards and 3 NBA championships, Magic won 3 MVP awards and 5 titles, while Dr. J won 3 ABA MVPS, an NBA MVP along with two ABA tiles and a championships in the NBA. Nothing but legends and hardware on this 1980 Topps card.

Huge congrats to Mike Beck for landing this treasure! You can see Larry Bird on the left as the first card, looking back, Dr. J in the middle where he might be passing a ball, and Magic going up with a ball in his right hand as the third card. Between each player you can see the perforations to make three individual cards.

J5 DID call his shot, but we think it was our shipping manager, Kris, that brought the luck on this pack; J5 didn't pull the Bird-Magic until she walked in.
