They don't call us VINTAGE breaks for nothing! Our newest card breaks are up on the site and we just posted a 1962 Topps baseball cello pack. Sealed for 60 years, we can't wait to see the treasures that come out of this piece of history. Take a look at the pack and see you how can grab a spot today.
It's not every day this pack of cards shows up at the Vintage Breaks office. Here is a sealed 1962 Topps baseball cello pack from the 5th series. in total, Topps released their set in 7 different series that year. If you're not familiar with the series releases, Topps still does this and it works out well for both Topps and you. By not releasing every card at once, Topps knows we'll continue buying cards all baseball season. This also allows time for Topps to print rookie cards of players called up later in the season. In fact, Topps just released 2022 Series 2 last week. So which cards are possible in the 5th series of 1962? How about several Hall of Famers and a big-time rookie card.
The 5th series contains cards from #371-446. In that run is #387, the rookie card of Lou Brock! A first-ballot Hall of Famer, Brock is a member of the 3,000 hit club, won two World Series championships and was the all-time stolen base leader when he hung up his cleats after 1979. A few all-star cards are in this series including Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Frank Robinson, and Warren Spahn. Card #401 features Roger Maris the year after he broke Babe Ruth's record of 60 homers with his new mark of 61.
While you're never guaranteed a PSA 10, a pack-fresh card has the best chance. We're hoping for a TEN! According to the pop report there are only 2 known PSA 10 Lou Brock rookie cards. There are zero 10's for the Aaron, Mays, and Robinson all-star cards. We'd LOVE to pull history from this pack for you.
How long have these Topps cards been sealed? On May 1st, 1962, the first Target was opened in Roseville, Minnesota. Goldfish crackers had just been invented. For about 70 cents you could buy a movie ticket AND a popcorn. We were still a year way to see Dr. No with Sean Connery as James Bond to be released in the US.
There are 12 cards in this cello pack, so we are offering on 12 spots. Each spot your purchase guarantees you 1 card at random from the pack; nobody goes home emptyhanded in the break. To purchase your spot for only $450, simply click here:
We were able to break a 1947-66 Exhibits baseball pack recently and we pulled a Willie Mays! Here is a video to see how a cello pack break works with Vintage Breaks:
