Your chance to own a Hank Aaron rookie card is here today! This iconic card of The Hammer is available in a new set break for the COMPLETE set of 1954 Topps baseball cards and you could buy a spot now. Not only is Aaron in the set but so are legendary players like Jackie Robinson, Willie Mays, Ted Williams, and more. See how you could own a card from this beautiful set.
The 1954 Topps complete set having only 250 cards makes each card desirable; the set is filled with stars. Did you know there are TWO Ted Williams cards in this set? Teddy Ballgame is card #1 and card #250! He returned from his military service that year. We love that Topps did this for one of the greatest ever to play the game. You may recall that Williams joined the Navy Reserve during WWII but was then called back into duty during the Korean War where he flew on 39 missions! Both cards in this set break have been graded by SGC for you. Above you can see the exact cards in the set break, with card #1 having the orange background (graded SGC 4), and card #250 having the yellow background (graded SGC 2.5). Ted looks like he's swinging for the fences in both cards - perhaps hitting two of his 521 career home runs.
As there are 250 cards in the break, only 250 spots in the break will be sold - this ensures that you will take home a card from the set. The list of names is always randomized LIVE on the show as the break occurs; you have the same chance as everyone else in the break to land the cards you desire. For example, after the randomization, if your name is in spot 10, card #10 is yours - the Jackie Robinson card!
Every spot you purchase will bring a vintage card from the 1954 Topps set to your personal collection.
This set, with the vibrant colors in the background really pops in the "tux" look that SGC holders provide. Look how young Hank Aaron is in that picture! The Hammer was only 20 at the time. We could fill this entire page up with all of Aaron's states; he was just that incredible on the field. With 755 home runs, 3,771 hits, and an MLB record STILL of 2,297 runs batted in, few have ever played the game better. Ernie Banks, Mr. Cub, ended up with 512 home runs in his illustrious career. Only 28 players have ever surpassed the 500 home run plateau, and this set has rookie cards from two of those members. Jackie Robinson sits at card number 10 on which he looks to be making a spectacular play in the field! Jackie dealt with hardships we could never imagine when he broke baseball's color barrier. On top of it all, Robinson won the Rookie of the Year, MVP, and a World Series championship on his way to the Hall of Fame.
Travel back in time when you collected this set as a kid or you heard your dad tell you stories about opening up these wax packs in search of his favorite cards. Back in 1954 when a color TV set from RCA was $1,000 (about 10,547.06 today!), we were introduced to TV Dinners, and the first The Lord of the Rings books were published.
